Drone battery died mid-inspection over the I-5 overpass job, who sides with the field crew?
We were mapping a bridge deck near Bakersfield last Tuesday and the battery hit 12% with no warning, so the drone auto-landed right in a pile of rebar. My site lead wanted to keep flying with the backup, but the GC insisted we reschedule and eat the $400 rental day. I get safety first, but the thermal camera caught the whole issue on the first pass, so I think we lost a full day for nothing. Anyone else had a drone fail where the data was actually good enough to overrule the stop order?
