Just realized my crew burned through 200 laser measuring batteries in 6 months

I was looking at our supply order for last quarter and noticed we went through almost 200 AAA batteries just for our little Bosch laser measures. That's like $400 a year in batteries alone if you buy the good ones at Home Depot. We have 12 guys on the crew and half of them just leave the lasers on overnight or toss them in the gang box with the button pressed. Has anyone else switched to the rechargeable lithium ones on a big crew? I'm wondering if they actually hold up on a job site.

We had the exact same problem on my crew. I counted 45 dead AAAs in one toolbox cleanout, all just from people leaving the button held down. The rechargeable lithium ones from Amazon work fine for us now. We got a pack of 8 with a charger and they last about 4 months before one starts dying. Just make sure you label them with a sharpie so nobody walks off with them. Saves you probably $200 a year minimum once you get everyone trained.
