Question about laser levels after a tile guy called mine a toy
I was helping my brother with a bathroom tile job out in Mesa last month and the tile guy looked at my $40 laser level and said "that thing's a toy, you're gonna chase a line that lies to you." I didn't say much at the time but it bugged me, so I checked it against a chalk line in three spots and he was right, it was off by about a quarter inch across 8 feet. I get that a real rotary level costs way more than my little cross line unit, but I'm not about to drop several hundred without hearing from people who actually use one daily. What's the cheapest setup that's stayed true for you past a year or two?
