That week in Atlanta where everything went right on a commercial floor job

I had this one week back in 2017, working on a small office lobby in Atlanta, and it was just unreal how smooth it went. The subfloor was actually level on the first check, which never happens, and the LVP we were installing had this click-lock system that just worked without any fuss. I think we laid down about 800 square feet in two days, and the pattern we did with the planks came out looking like it was factory designed. The client walked through on Thursday, said "this is exactly what I pictured," and cut me the final check right then. I still think about that job sometimes when I'm fighting with a bad glue batch or a saw that won't stay square. Has anyone else had a job where the stars just aligned like that?

I used to think "this is exactly what I pictured" was just something clients say to be polite, but after hearing it myself once I finally believed it could be real. That feeling when everything clicks and the work actually matches the vision is rare enough to remember years later, and it keeps me hoping for another week like that. Makes you wonder why the universe can't just be that cooperative all the time, you know?

Wait, was that actually your own work that matched your vision, or did the client just describe something that was already in your head? Because I feel like there's a big difference between someone telling you "this is exactly what I pictured" and you walking away thinking that's the same as the universe cooperating. That moment when your own making lines up with what you saw in your mind is such a different kind of rare, almost like catching lightning in a bottle.
