Unpopular opinion: the week we ditched paper plans for tablets on the Katy job was the best and worst 5 days of my career
We loaded 40 tablets with the full drawing set on a Monday and by Wednesday the super in Katy, Texas was cussing me out because his battery died mid-pour and we couldn't find the revision he needed. But Thursday we caught a clash between the duct and a beam on screen before it got built, saving us about $12k in rework. Anyone else have a rollout that started rough but ended up earning its keep?

Get a few backup battery packs and keep them in the job trailer, not on the crew. We learned that the hard way on a hospital job when three guys ran dry by lunch. Also print the sheets you know you will need for the day, like the pour drawings or the deck layout. Screen is great until it dies, then paper is your best friend.
