Debate: are old Geocities sites better as time capsules or roadkill?

My buddy Mike said archived dead sites lose their charm once they're cleaned up, but I found a 1998 shrine to Tamagotchis that felt more alive than any museum. Do you preserve the janky mess or let forgotten pages rot naturally?

Oh man, you're totally right about that Tamagotchi site - I found one recently that had a midi file of the death jingle that legit made me tear up. But gotta say, "roadkill" is the better term since half those sites are held together by broken image links and dead Guestbooks.
