Flash games on a 2001 Angelfire page still run better than half the stuff on Kongregate

I heard a guy at a coffee shop in Denver mention a site called "Zombo.com" and I laughed thinking he was joking. Turns out it's been up since 1999 and it's just a looping page telling you you can do anything there. I spent 20 minutes on it and honestly felt more focused than an hour scrolling today's social feeds. Who else has a weird old site that somehow still hits different?

...and honestly that Zombo thing makes total sense to me. I still fire up this old text-based game called Kingdom of Loathing from like 2003, and the stupid stick figures and jokes hit harder than any modern MMO I've tried. There's something about how simple and honest those old pages are, no ads playing over everything, no battle pass nonsense, just pure weird creativity. I think we all got so used to games trying to squeeze money out of us that we forgot how chill a dumb little loop can be. You got any other antique bookmarks you still check when you need a brain reset?
