Ngl I spent $40 on one of those 'lost web directory' CDs off eBay and it was just Angelfire links from 2003
Saw a listing from a seller in Sacramento saying it had 5,000 dead sites archived from old Wayback dumps. Turned out 90% of the links redirected to porn or parked domains, and the rest were just generic Geocities pages someone scraped. Buyer beware if you see CDs advertised like this, the guy had 200 positive feedback too so I thought it was safe. Has anyone actually found a real curated archive worth paying for or is it all junk like this?
