Question about the old NOAA buoy page that finally loaded after dialup gave up
I was trying to pull real wave height data off the old National Data Buoy Center site for a project and it kept timing out on my phone. Turned out the page at ndbc.noaa.gov only renders right on desktop with JavaScript off, and I burned almost 2 hours flipping settings before a 2003 forum post in a Google cache tipped me off. The station 41009 off Cape Canaveral still updates every 10 minutes with data that looks like it was typed by hand. Anyone else still pulling from these old government pages, and did you ever find a trick to make them load faster?
