Still think the Wayback Machine is just for memes? I was wrong for years

I used to only use the Wayback Machine to find dead image links or laugh at old Geocities pages. But last month I needed to recover a contract template from a site that went down in 2016, and it had the exact PDF I needed from 2014. That thing saved me about 3 hours of rewriting from scratch. Anyone else sleeping on it for actual work stuff?

Got to jump in here because I've been through something similar with old family stuff disappearing. @wyattbennett your neighbor is smart for using the Wayback Machine on a cooking blog, that tool has saved me more times than I can count. I had an aunt who ran a small blog with her bread recipes for years, then one day it just went dark with no warning. I was panicking because her sourdough starter instructions were on there and nobody else wrote them down. Dug around in the Wayback Machine and found a snapshot from two years before the site died, complete with all the steps and photos. It's not always perfect but it works way more often than people think. You just gotta try different dates sometimes if the first one doesn't load right.
