That $3 animated cursor pack I found on a 2004 Geocities mirror
I was digging through the WayBack Machine for old web rings and stumbled on a dead link that still had a working download for animated cursors. Cost me three bucks on a sketchy paypal button, and it actually delivered a zip file with 40 pixelated cursors straight from the dialup era. My whole desktop feels like 1999 again, and the little spinning globe cursor makes me smile every time I hover over a link. The file even came with a readme from someone named 'WebWizardKev' who swore these worked on Netscape 4. Has anyone else found a relic like this that still functions perfectly after all these years, or am I the only one paying for nostalgia? I'd love to know if there's a better archive out there that's still untouched.

Man, that's a hell of a find. I once paid five bucks for a Winamp skin pack off some random forum in 2007, and it came with a fake "crack" that was just a text file of the creator's mixtape lyrics. The skins were garbage, but I still got a kick out of the readme where the guy threatened to dox anyone who resold them. Your cursor thing sounds way better. The spinning globe one is classic, I bet it's got that weird 3D bevel look that makes everything feel like a screensaver. Honestly, the fact that a PayPal button from 2004 still processed anything is the real miracle here.
