The GeoCities fan page for a diner in Abilene that died in 2004, and I'm weirdly torn about whether someone should save it
I was digging through old web rings last Tuesday and hit a GeoCities page for a diner called The Blue Spoon in Abilene, Texas. Last update was March 2004, the guestbook has 11 entries, and one visitor counter image is a broken GIF. Part of me says leave it alone, that dead pages are part of the charm and archiving everything kills the mystery. The other part says 11 guestbook posts and a menu nobody can read anymore is exactly the stuff that vanishes when the host pulls the plug. So do you all try to save pages like this, or just enjoy them while they last?
