A client at my salon in Tampa asked me to fix her box dye and it took 5 hours
So this lady came in around 2pm on a Saturday, she had used a box dye from the drugstore and her hair was straight up orange at the roots and pitch black on the ends. I had maybe 4 clients booked that day and she was a walk in, but she looked so upset I told her to sit down. I mixed a color remover and we waited 30 minutes, then I did a bleach bath to pull the black out. By 7pm I had her at a level 7 copper, which was way better than what she walked in with. I charged her $180 and she tipped me $40, which was sweet, but the whole thing messed up my whole schedule. My back was killing me and I skipped dinner. Now I always ask walk ins if they used box dye before I even touch their hair, and I quote them a flat rate for correction work. Has anyone else had a walk in box dye disaster that threw off their whole day?
