Chat with a stylist in Miami changed my view on sulfate-free

My coworker told me she only uses sulfates on textured hair now because buildup can dull curls faster than any shampoo strip ever could, and I've been rethinking my whole approach since that conversation last Wednesday, anyone else reconsidering their product philosophy after a talk with a peer?

My coworker said the same thing to me a few months back and I was stubborn about it at first. I had been sulfate-free for like two years straight thinking I was doing the right thing. Switched back to a gentle sulfate shampoo once a week and my curls actually look way better, less that weird fuzzy dull look. Funny how we get so locked into a product philosophy then one conversation flips it.

Nah man I gotta disagree hard on this one. Sulfates stripped my hair bare and left it feelin like straw, no amount of "gentle" weekly washes fixed that damage. You do you but I'm stayin in the sulfate-free lane forever.
