Client corrected my toner mix and I'm still chewing on it

Last Thursday, a woman in her 60s watched me pull a level 8 gold from the shelf and said my warm tones were fighting her cool skin, so I swapped to a level 7 with blue. She was right, the finish looked way more natural, and it made me wonder how many other little habits I've never questioned. Anyone else have a client call out a technique that turned out better?
