Found an old perm rod in my kit from 2009, tried it on a client yesterday

Pulled a dusty spiral rod out of my backup bag and used it on a walk-in in Austin, the curl pattern came out way tighter and more defined than anything I've sold recently. Guess the old tools still got it, anyone else keep relics from beauty school that just work better?
