I finally found a way to keep my shears from slipping during a wet cut
I was doing a wet cut on a client with super thick hair last Thursday, and my shears kept sliding in my hand. After the third time, I grabbed a piece of that non-slip drawer liner from my station, cut a small strip, and wrapped it around the finger rest. It gave me a perfect grip for the rest of the cut without being bulky. Has anyone else tried something like this, or do you have a different trick for slippery tools?

Wesley's point about the liner shedding is exactly why I don't use random stuff. It's a bigger thing I see all the time, people using a quick fix that can make a mess later. Like using tape that leaves glue everywhere. The right tool for the job exists for a reason, it's not just about spending money. That drawer liner is for drawers, not for tools that touch a client.

Ugh, I tried that once and it was a total disaster. Switched to the real grip tape and never looked back.

Wait, you just grabbed that from your station drawer? That's wild, I would be so scared of it tearing or leaving little bits in someone's hair. I've seen those liners shed before. What if a tiny piece of that grippy stuff got stuck in a thick section? I'd be picking it out for an hour. I stick to the proper tool grip tape they sell for this, it's made to be clean.
