Just hit my 500th foil today and my fingers are still twitching

I counted every single one after a bride brought in 15 friends for full highlights and I didn't stop to think about the number until my wrist started cramping - has anyone else ever kept track of a crazy milestone like that on a single job?

Used to think counting foils was a bit extra, but then I had a day where I did 32 balayage highlights in one shift and ended up with my thumb locked in a claw position for an hour. Now I totally get why you'd track that - it's like proof you survived something brutal. That 15-friend group sounds like a true test of patience and hand strength.

That "thumb locked in a claw position" line hit close to home, I've been there after a long day of foils myself. So I gotta ask, did you ever change how you section or wrap to save your hand, or did you just tough it out and hope for the best? Genuinely curious if there's a trick to preventing that death grip.
