Just realized the average client sits in my chair only 6 times a year
I was reading a salon business report from a Columbus trade show and it said the average client comes in 4 to 6 times a year, which means I only get maybe 5 chances to make an impression on someone new. That number stuck with me all week, because I used to think a bad consultation was no big deal since they'd be back in a few weeks anyway. How do you all make those first few visits count without coming off pushy?
Man that 4 to 6 number hit me the same way when I heard it. I started keeping a little note on my phone after each new client visit so I remember what we talked about, like their kid's name or that they hate going short in summer, and it makes the next visit feel way more personal without me having to sell anything. Half the time they end up rebooking just because I remembered the small stuff.
