Made a shy client laugh with a tiny mirror trick today

Had a new walk-in around 2pm, she barely said two words during the shampoo. I flipped the hand mirror backwards so she saw her own face upside down, she snorted so loud the whole salon turned. By the time I finished her trim, she was joking about her "backwards self" and booked a follow up. Anyone else got a little icebreaker that works better than small talk?

So did she catch on right away or stare at the mirror confused for a bit? Kinda curious if the trick works on everyone or just people who are already loosening up.
