One client's comment about my blending technique changed how I work entirely

Back in 2017 at a salon in Tulsa, a lady told me my highlights looked like stripes from 10 feet away, which stung but she wasn't wrong. I switched from foils to balayage for most of my brunettes after that, and it took about 6 months of practice to really nail the soft root melt. Has anyone else had a harsh critique that actually made them better at their craft?
