Texture sprays are overhyped until you use one on fine hair
I spent five years telling clients dry shampoo was enough and texture sprays were a gimmick. Last month a bride with stick-straight fine hair begged me to try one before her reception. I threw on a cheap sea salt spray from the supply store, and her updo held through three hours of dancing and a sparkler exit. Now I keep a bottle in my kit, but I still side-eye anyone charging 30 bucks for fancy salt water. Anyone else eat crow on a product you swore off?

Is it just me, or does every industry have that one thing where you're totally sure it's a scam until it saves you in a pinch? Like I remember being convinced those phone gimbal stabilizers were for influencers only, then I used one on a windy beach trip and suddenly my shaky videos were actually watchable. Same with those cheap little battery packs that everyone said were junk, until my phone died at a festival and a $10 one kept me going all night. It's funny how we build these walls around products, then one real life situation just knocks them down. That sea salt spray probably isn't magic, it's just the right tool for the right hair.
