Thought color theory was just fluff until last Tuesday
Spent 3 hours trying to match a root shadow on a client with ash brown hair. Kept pulling too warm. Finally stopped and looked at the actual undertone. A 20 minute consult would have saved me almost 3 hours. Anyone else skip the basics and regret it?

Kept pulling too warm" - that's the worst feeling. I did the same thing last month on a level 6 ash. Wasted two hours trying to fix it with a toner that was still too golden. Color theory is just a fancy way of saying look at the damn hair first.
