Vent: A client wanted her hair to match the purple flowers in our park's new garden
So, a lady came in yesterday with a snapshot of the fresh blooms at Riverside Park. She was dead set on getting her highlights to mirror that exact lavender shade. I ended up blending a pearl toner with a bit of violet direct dye to nail it. Honestly, it was a neat challenge that got me out of my usual color routine. I'm thinking of keeping a folder of local spots for inspiration when clients are stuck. It turns a normal color job into something special tied to our area. Give it a shot if you're looking for new ideas.

Read about salons using nature for color palettes, good call.

Yeah, I tried that last fall. Pulled colors from turning leaves for a client, mixing a coppery red with a deeper brunette base. It came out way more real than just picking a single color from a swatch book. The subtle mix made it look sun-kissed, not dyed. You see that deep burgundy shade on maples much?
