Warning: I just read a salon safety report that freaked me out.
It said over 40% of stylists have had a chemical burn from a lightener in the last year. Saw it in a trade magazine from last month. Anyone else seen this or changed their mixing routine because of it?

That stat seems high for a professional setting. Most stylists I know are pretty careful with their mixing ratios.

I saw a study from the Oregon Health Authority last year that found 1 in 3 salons had developer mix errors during inspections. I used to assume pros never messed that up, but the data shows it's a real issue. It's often not about being careless, but rushing during a busy day or getting distracted. That report totally changed how I view it, because even good stylists can make a simple mistake under pressure. It made me realize checking ratios is a constant need, not a one-time training thing.

@christopher_singh92 that Oregon Health Authority study is wild. 1 in 3 salons messing up developer ratios during inspections? I thought that kind of slip up was a rare thing, not something that common. Hard to believe a pro would be off on their numbers that often, but I guess busy days get chaotic.
