I was dead set on buying a new Liebherr until my union buddy in Houston showed me his 20 year old Grove
He told me he spent $3,000 on repairs last decade but it still lifts better than my 2015 Terex, so I went with the used Grove and saved $40,000, anyone else stick with old iron after seeing it work?

Gotta disagree, new tech's reliability is worth the premium over ancient iron.

Heard the same thing from my buddy in Ohio. @wesley_hart I get what you're saying but his old Grove, a 1997 model, still runs circles around his 2018 Link-Belt. Spent $2,200 on a transmission rebuild two years ago, that's it. He was ready to drop $80k on a new rig until his dad told him to just fix the old one. Now he laughs every time he sees a new Terex stuck in the mud. Sometimes old iron just knows the job better.
