I'll take a Grove over a Liebherr any day of the week

I'll take a Grove over a Liebherr any day of the week. Was running a Liebherr LTM 1050 last month on a job in Nashville and man, that machine just felt clunky compared to my usual Grove. The controls are way too sensitive for tight picks in tight spaces. I had to feather the joysticks constantly just to keep a load from swinging. Switched back to a Grove GMK5130-2 and got the same beam set in place in half the time. The Grove just lets you feel the load better through the seat, if that makes sense. Anyone else feel like the cab layout on the Liebherr is designed by someone who never actually ran a crane?

Yeah I used to be all about Liebherr a few years back. Had this idea they were built tougher or something because of the German engineering reputation. But then I got stuck on a site where the Liebherr just could not keep up with the load control I needed. Swapped to a Grove halfway through the week and it was like night and day. The seat feedback on a Grove really is different you can feel exactly what the load is doing without fighting the machine. That cab layout thing you mentioned is spot on too, Liebherr cabs feel like an office desk and a Grove feels like a tool.

Right? I had almost the exact same wake-up call on a tight deadline in Houston last spring. Liebherr felt like I was wrestling the boom all day, but the Grove just let me actually get the work done without all that extra fight.
