Shoutout to the electrician who told me his biggest fear on a job site is a rushed crane lift

He said, 'I've seen more close calls from a guy trying to beat the clock than from a guy who doesn't know his rigging,' and that stuck with me all through my shift moving steel beams at the new hospital project.

My uncle's crew had a crane cable snap in 2019.

Yeah, that tracks... rushing just makes you miss the small stuff that can go real bad. Reminds me of what @brooke533 said about her uncle's crew, a snapped cable is no joke.

Seen that happen with a rotten limb nobody spotted because they were in a hurry. The whole job stops when something that small lets go, and you're just standing there counting your lucky stars nobody got hurt. It's never the big, obvious dangers that get you, it's the stuff you talk yourself into ignoring for the sake of speed.
