Spent $400 on a used boom angle indicator, best money I ever put in the cab
Back in 2018 I was running an old Link-Belt in North Dakota and the angle gauge was shot, just flopping around showing whatever it wanted. I kept eyeballing it like the old-timers did, but after one close call with a high line near Minot I decided to stop guessing. Found a refurbished unit from a dealer in Fargo for $400 including the sensor and wiring harness. Took me a full Saturday to mount it and run the cables, but that thing has been dead on ever since. My spotter still jokes that I trust it more than my own gut, and honestly he's not wrong. Has anyone else coughed up cash for a used electronic part that turned out way better than expected? I'm curious if I just got lucky or if this is common.
