Traffic light blind spot on a Liebherr LTM 1050 last Tuesday in Charlotte
I was setting steel on a tight downtown jobsite and the traffic light was completely hidden behind the cab post. Had my oiler spot me from the street corner to call out reds and greens, which was slow but safe. Anyone use a mirror setup for this kind of situation?

A spotter is just adding another layer of complication to something that should be simple. You're paying a guy to stand there and watch a light you could easily see if you just repositioned the crane before you started. Mirrors won't help either, they'll just give you a distorted view and another thing to focus on when you should be watching the load. If you can't see the light from the seat, that's a sign you parked in the wrong spot, plain and simple. Why not just pick a better setup position instead of rigging up a whole system to fix a problem you created?

Haha, you know what this reminds me of? My uncle tried to use a mirror once to back his boat trailer down the ramp and ended up with the truck half in the water. Sometimes the simple way really is the best way.
