Watched a guy run a 50 ton crane on a barge last week

Down at the Port of Savannah. He was lifting containers off a cargo ship onto a truck. The sway control on that thing was unreal. Any of you run cranes on water like that?

Heard that, buddy. That sway control is no joke when you're working on water. Even a small barge can shift with the current and wind, so keeping a 50 ton load steady takes some serious skill. I've seen guys do it in the Great Lakes, and it's a whole different ballgame than solid ground. Respect to anyone that can handle that without the load swinging into the side of the ship. That's the kind of work where you earn every dollar.

Wait, you're saying the load decides when it wants to swing?
