Controversial: The week I found 5 killer deals on FB Marketplace vs the week I got ghosted 8 times
Two weeks ago I scored a $200 vintage dining table for $40 and a near-mint snowboard for $60 within like 3 days. It was insane, everything was priced low and sellers responded fast. But last week I replied to like 8 different ads for tools and furniture, cash in hand, and every single one either never wrote back or said 'sorry sold it 2 hours ago'. Same city, same time of day, same approach. Which week is more normal for you guys? Like is it just luck or do certain days or times really make or break your finds?

You're clearly just late to the party on those ghosted ones lol. If you want the good deals you gotta be refreshing every 10 minutes and messaging within 30 seconds of the post going up, not just replying to ads that are already hours old. That $200 table you got was probably listed during a weird time when nobody else was looking, not because you did anything special. Luck is a huge factor but people who swear by specific days or times are just trying to make sense of random chance.

Used to swear by Friday morning listings myself, thought I had it all figured out. But honestly you're probably right, I got that table because nobody else was online at 3am when the seller posted it, not because of some secret timing trick. The whole "message within 30 seconds" thing is exhausting though, I've tried that and most of the time the person still flakes or sells to someone else anyway. Maybe it's more about being in the right place at the right time than any strategy we can control. You definitely gave me something to think about, might stop overthinking the system now.
