Everyone says lowballers are just rude, but one guy's $40 offer on my $200 kayak actually worked out
Posted a beat up kayak on Facebook Marketplace for $200 and some guy named Dale offered $40, which everyone says to ignore. I said yes anyway, and he showed up with cash and a trailer in 20 minutes, so now I'm wondering if I've been turning down easy sales this whole time.
Dale is the real MVP here. That guy knew what he wanted, had the cash ready, and didn't waste your time haggling back and forth for three days like most people do. The real trick is learning which offers are from serious buyers and which are just tire kickers. A low offer with a trailer and cash in 20 minutes beats a full price offer from some guy who ghosts you for a week. I've started replying to every offer now, even the low ones, because you never know who's actually gonna show up.
