Just saw a Craigslist ad for a "haunted” toaster oven listed at $75
Someone in Denver is selling a toaster oven they claim is haunted by a ghost that burns everything on the left side only. They included a photo of a burnt bagel to prove it, which honestly just looks like user error to me. Has anyone else found an ad that blamed normal problems on supernatural stuff for profit?

Ngl I feel like someone just burned their bagel and is trying to make rent off of it. Like how is a ghost gonna consistently burn one side of a toaster oven when ghosts don't even have hands to turn the dial? The seller probably just didn't clean the left side and now it runs hot. Honestly it's kind of genius though, if you can convince people your broken appliance is haunted you can charge twice what it's worth. Tbh I bet if you replaced the heating element that toaster would work fine. People will blame anything on ghosts rather than admit they just left it on high too long.

A friend of mine once sold a "haunted" toaster on eBay and the buyer left a review saying it whispered to them at night. Turns out it was just the timer spring rattling loose, but @barbaragarcia is right - people will pay a premium for a good ghost story. Honestly the real haunting is how much we all spend on kitchen appliances that break in a year anyway.
