That $40 vintage lamp I got off Facebook Marketplace had a hidden nest of baby mice inside
Saw this listing for a cool old brass lamp in Seattle for $40 and thought I scored. Got it home, went to clean it up, and when I unscrewed the base about a dozen baby mice came tumbling out. Not kidding. Had to throw the whole thing in the yard and text the seller who just said 'oh yeah the previous owner mentioned mice'. Has anyone else gotten something way worse than advertised?

Did you actually check if the mice were a separate bonus find covered under 'mystery box' rules or something?

Jumping off what @maxhart said, I actually dug into the fine print on their mystery box rules and it's SUPER vague. They list "bonus finds" separately but the mice could fall under "miscellaneous perishable items" which is a weird catch-all. I had to email their support just to get a straight answer, and even then they danced around it. So unless you get it in writing from a manager, assume the mice are NOT covered by any mystery box loophole. That way you don't get burned if they try to deny it later.
