Two identical couches listed for $300 and $900, I drove 2 hours to compare both in Dallas...

So I saw this weird thing last month. Same exact IKEA couch, same color, same condition basically. One guy in Plano wanted $300, other guy in Fort Worth wanted $900. I actually went and looked at both because I was curious if the expensive one was secretly better. Nope. Same stains, same sagging cushions, same squeaky frame. The $900 guy even admitted he 'just knew what he had'. I bought the $300 one and hauled it home in a U-Haul for $40. So here's my question... do y'all think higher prices on FB Marketplace actually mean better quality to some people, or is it pure luck of who's selling? Has anyone else compared two identical items at different prices and been shocked?
