Found an old Angelfire shrine to a 90s boy band that still had working MIDI files
I was digging through the Wayback Machine last night and stumbled on a page from 1997 dedicated to *NSYNC. The background was this godawful repeating star pattern, there was a guestbook that still worked somehow, and the MIDI file for "Tearin' Up My Heart" played instantly. Meanwhile, I clicked one link on the site yesterday and it redirected me through four ad servers before showing me a blank page. Has anyone else found a relic that held up better than modern web stuff?

Yeah I found a Geocities page about homemade lava lamps that still had its animated gif of a dancing baby and a hit counter that actually went up when I refreshed. That thing loaded faster than my bank's login page does now.

Hit counter tricks are the only reason I miss dial-up.
