That "free recipe PDF" link cost me 3 hours and my saved passwords

Clicked a link in a cooking forum for a free grandma's chili recipe PDF, ended up on a fake login page that mirrored my email provider. Lost two saved passwords before I caught it, total time wasted was a full afternoon in Tulsa. Has anyone else run into these redirect traps that look like a legit file share site?

Wait, you mean grandma's chili recipe secretly came with a side of identity theft? Lol that's rough, but honestly I'm not even surprised anymore. I almost fell for one of those fake file share pages last week, it looked exactly like the real thing until I noticed the URL had an extra letter in it. The scary part is how good they've gotten at copying the login screens, you blink and your passwords are gone before you even know what happened. At least you only lost two, I heard of a guy who typed his bank info into one of those bait PDFs and got cleaned out. Maybe grandma's chili just isn't worth the hassle, better off asking your neighbor for their actual recipe card lol.

Funny how we double check prices but not the links we click on.
