The link rot on my old blog got me for 5 hours today

Tbh I was trying to find an old tutorial I wrote in 2011 about fixing a broken RSS feed, and every single link I had saved pointed to a dead page. Took me 5 hours in Wayback Machine digs just to piece together that the whole domain was sold and the new owner 404'd everything. Ngl, the archive had the page but the images were hosted on some defunct image service from 2009. Has anyone else spent a whole afternoon chasing a ghost link like that?
