The link that redirected to a printer setup page still haunts me
Last month I clicked a recipe link for 'authentic Chicago deep dish' and it took me to an HP printer driver download for a model from 2009. I even went back to check the URL and it was just the recipe site's own archive with zero warnings. Has anyone else been sent to a completely unrelated download page and wondered if you accidentally summoned a cursed redirect?

Read somewhere that those fake redirects usually come from old ad networks still clinging to dead sites, so it's less magic and more forgotten code doing its thing. The printer thing makes sense though, since driver pages are some of the most visited junk on the web, so scammers love parking links there. Your recipe site probably got sold to a content farm that never cleaned out its back end, which is why you got served an ancient relic instead of pizza.
