Showerthought: That one customer who taught me about paper weight

Had a lady come into the shop last March with a stack of flyers she printed at home. She asked why they looked cheap compared to the ones I made. I showed her the difference between 20 lb bond and 100 lb cover stock, and she just stood there nodding for a solid 2 minutes. Has anyone else had a customer who genuinely didn't know paper weight mattered that much?

That part about her "just standing there nodding for a solid 2 minutes" really hit me. I totally get that. I used to be that person honestly. Before I started printing stuff for my church group I just grabbed whatever paper was cheapest at the store. Never even thought about weight or thickness or any of that. Then a print shop guy showed me the difference with a stack of business cards. Felt kinda dumb but it changed how I look at paper entirely. Now I actually check the label before buying.
