Appreciation post: My router's default admin password was the reason my smart lights kept acting weird.
After my lights in Seattle flickered for a week, I logged into the router's settings for the first time in years and found a dozen unknown devices connected, which I kicked off after changing the password to something long and random.

My neighbor's kid was using their default wifi to run a crypto miner... found out when their toaster kept turning off.

Wait, so the toaster was basically the canary in the coal mine for their whole power grid? @sullivan.elliot, that's a new kind of smart home problem. Kid's out here trying to mine digital coins and instead just burned the toast. I guess you could say their breakfast plans got... interrupted.
