I thought password managers were a hassle until my bank account got flagged

For years I just reused a few simple passwords everywhere, thinking I'd remember them. Then my credit union in Phoenix called me about weird login attempts from another state. I got a password manager that day and let it make a 16-character random one for my main email. It felt like a pain at first, but now everything auto-fills and I don't have to think about it. Has anyone else had a close call that finally made them switch?

That exact thing happened to a friend of mine. They got a scary alert from their email about a login from another country. It finally clicked that using the same password everywhere was just asking for trouble. Honestly, setting up the manager took maybe twenty minutes. Now it's just part of the routine and feels normal. The peace of mind is totally worth that small bit of setup time.
