Just saw my password habits from 2 years ago vs now and it's wild

I stumbled on an old password list from early 2022 and every single one was like 'dog123' or 'summer2020' with zero variety. Then I looked at my current setup which is all random 16 character strings stored in a manager. The difference is literally night and day after I got phished on a fake Amazon login page last April. Anyone else have that moment where you look back at old passwords and cringe?

Yeah, I mean sure it's a cringe moment looking back but is it really that deep? People act like having 'dog123' was the end of the world when realistically most of us weren't exactly prime targets for hackers back then. The whole password manager thing is fine but let's not pretend your average forum account on some random site is worth a hacker's time. Getting phished sucks but it's also kind of a right of passage, not some huge life revelation.

Yeah it's like that thing where people panic over outdated tech habits but then turn around and use the same grocery store loyalty card for ten years with zero security thought, right? We're all just picking and choosing where to be careful based on whatever the latest scare is.
