My boss is pushing for shared logins to save time. What's the best way to show why that's a bad idea?
I think it opens us up to big security holes if someone leaves or messes up. Has anyone dealt with this and found a good way to talk about it?

It's like leaving your house keys under the mat, tempting but risky for everyone.

At my old job, the manager wanted shared logins for the support team. I pulled up a news article about a company that got hacked because of shared passwords. I showed how tracking who did what became IMPOSSIBLE, and we'd be liable if something went wrong. After that, they agreed to individual accounts, which made audits easier and reduced risk BIG time.

Nice one, @jade47. That's the perfect way to get through to managers who only see the short-term convenience. I'd add that individual accounts also stop internal problems, like someone messing up a client's settings on purpose and no one knowing who did it. It just makes the whole team more careful when their name is on every action.
