My home router got hit with a brute force attack last Tuesday night.

I woke up to a bunch of alerts from my network monitor showing failed login attempts from an IP in Vietnam. I had to pull the plug on the router, reset the admin password to something way longer, and turn on the built-in attack blocking feature. Has anyone else had to deal with this and found a better way to lock things down?

umasullivan's right, check those cheap smart devices first.

I read about a guy who set up a separate guest network just for his smart plugs and light bulbs. He said the main attack vector is usually those cheap IoT devices with default passwords. His router got scanned because a smart camera was still using admin/1234. Locking down the admin panel is good, but checking every connected device is the real chore.
