Update: I spent a full weekend trying to figure out why my new VPN kept dropping every 45 minutes on the dot.

Turns out my router's default DHCP lease time was set to exactly 2700 seconds, which was causing the conflict, and I only found it after digging through logs for hours.

Man that hits close to home. I had the same exact problem a few months back but it was with my smart home stuff dropping off the network. Drove me nuts for a week. Finally found the same setting buried in my own router, some weird default lease time. It's always some hidden setting you'd never think to check. The worst part is you feel so relieved when you find it, but also so mad at the wasted time.

Oh man, tell me about it! Actually, the lease time thing is usually a good default, it's more often the device limit that causes those random dropouts.
