Rant: That dead Tumblr blog about old car repair manuals

There was this Tumblr blog called '68 Mustang Notes that had scans of original shop manuals from the 60s. Someone named Dave ran it and he always said 'never trust a remanufactured alternator unless it comes from Phoenix Electric.' I thought he was being dramatic until I bought a $90 reman from a chain store and it died in 3 months. Now the whole blog is gone, even the Wayback Machine only saved like half the pages. Anyone else lose a niche resource that had legit specific advice?

Read a while back that the guy who ran that blog passed away suddenly. Heart attack or something, can't really remember. That would explain why the whole thing just vanished with no warning. Had a buddy who swore by his alternator advice too, said it saved him from getting stranded twice. Really sucks when someone with that kind of specific knowledge just disappears and takes all their notes with them.

Man that is really rough to hear @kevin_roberts41. Losing someone who genuinely knew their stuff is a bummer especially when they shared it all for free. My cousin actually used that same alternator tip and said it saved him from getting stuck out in the middle of nowhere on a fishing trip. Just sad to think about all that hands on knowledge just fading away like that. Makes you wish people would just backup their hard drives or something before they go.
