Rant: That old backpacking forum from 2009 with the trail journal feature

I tried to pull up some old trip reports from a backpacking trip I did in 2011 last Tuesday and the whole site is just a parked domain now. There was this one user named 'DesertRat' who posted detailed gear reviews that saved me from buying a terrible tent - does anyone know if those threads got archived somewhere?

Wayback is missing his PM responses on stove fuel safety, those were gold.

I actually read someone on Reddit mention that the Wayback Machine caught most of DesertRat's posts before the domain expired. I did a deep dive last week and found 14 of their gear reviews still saved, including that tent comparison that helped me dodge a bad purchase too. The archive timestamps were from 2013 so not everything is there but the popular threads are pretty intact.
