That archived forum thread about repairing old Game Boys that disappeared overnight
I had a bookmark saved for years with step-by-step photos on fixing a scratched screen lens. One day it just gave a 404 error and the Wayback Machine only caught the first page. Anyone else lose a tutorial they relied on?

my buddy was literally in the middle of recapping a GBC when the page he had open on his phone just refreshed and went dead. he had this one forum post that showed exactly which capacitors went where on the board, saved as a PDF from like 2008. the whole thing got nuked when the site changed hands and the new owner purged all the old threads. he still talks about it at least once a year when he cracks open another console. i told him to just use the wayback machine but somehow even that missed the critical pages with the photos. its like the internet just decided that knowledge wasnt worth keeping around.
